Why I Chose Computer Information Systems
I chose to pursue a degree in Computer Information Systems because I wanted to strengthen my technical skills while also studying business, particularly management and communication. I was drawn to the combination because it would allow me to develop both sets of skills and explore a wider range of career opportunities.
My Experience So Far
I’m currently in my third year of university and taking introductory computer science courses while exploring which areas of computing interest me most. Through my introductory programming courses, I’ve enjoyed seeing how an idea can become something that works, even when it takes time and practice to get there. Each course has helped me discover new things I want to learn, but I have especially enjoyed learning HTML in this course and starting to create websites in this class. I find it fun to write code and then have something I can actually see and interact with as a result, it feels like a reward. As I continue with my degree, I hope to become more confident in my coding skills, and explore more areas of computing to figure out what I enjoy most.
